Memory Lane Monday – Glory Box
This month we’re featuring Glory Box.
It premiered on July 2, 2016 at Creative Conversations, Annandale Creative Arts Centre, Australia.
Glory Box revolves around women being objectified, prized, and degraded by society. They are often seen as a ‘Madonna’ or a ‘whore’, with no middle ground. Our society is bombarded with sexualized imagery of females, objectifying them to create a product capable of satisfying human wants. No longer a person, the female body is but a commodity, a piece of flesh to be bought, sold, and consumed.
Choreographed by Bonnie Curtis in collaboration with her cast.
