DISCOTHEQUE à GOGO

BCP dancers Steph Wyburn is putting on their GoGo shoes to dance the night away in Discotheque à Gogo’s latest show.

After two sold-out dates, Discotheque à Gogo returns to The Vanguard this October with a brand NEW show!

Step back in time and enjoy a lively evening of entertainment inspired by the sights and sounds of Sydney nightlife in the 1960s. From groovy gogo dancers to soulful singers and spectacular showgirls, Discotheque a Gogo will take you on a psychedelic trip through pop culture’s most colourful decade.

Featuring the soulful musical harmonies of The Roslyns, dynamic dance duo Kelly Ann Doll and the Tasteless Gentleman, rising burlesque starlet Celia Bow and the authentic 60s-style choreography by Bridie Doll, this is one variety show you do not want to miss.

This is an 18+ event.

Date: Saturday October 7, 2023, 6pm.
Location: The Vanguard, 42 King Street, Newtown NSW 2042

GIRLS GONE WILD RESIDENCY
Next month we are heading back into the theatre to continue making our new work Girls Gone Wild.

During the residency, we’ll be diving deep into the complex characters of the angry women who bring the ‘Just Let It Go Anger Management Retreat For Angry Women’ to life.

This project is supported by the MerrigongX, NSW Government through Create NSW and the Australian Government’s Regional Arts Fund, which supports the arts in regional and remote Australia.

We are bursting at the sides to have this work on the stage soon… Watch this space…

uNCOILEd eXposed
Recently, Bonnie headed into the studio with AUSTI Dance & Physical Theatre as part of their uNCOILEd eXposed residency program.

Bonnie’s work explores the choreographic language and movement vocabulary she developed during her ATLAS residency at ImPulsTanz Vienna International Dance Festival last year.

The work, titled ’Soft Mirror’, is a dark, satirical dance-theatre work drawing on the juxtaposition of the “body beautiful” and “body grotesque”, in relation to western dance practices and pop culture.

See Bonnie’s work as part of uNCOILEd eXposed this month.

Dates: 19-21 October, 7.30pm
Location: Bruce Gordon Theatre, Illawarra Performing Arts Centre, 32 Burelli Street Wollongong
Tickets: https://merrigong.com.au/shows/uncoiled-exposed/

This project is made possible with the support of the NSW Government through Create NSW, MerrigongX and AUSTI Dance & Physical Theatre.
