Jessie Rochford- Barber has had a life long passion for the art of dance. Originally from New Zealand, she has travelled the world with dance and has just returned from working at Viva Wydham Resorts in The Bahamas. More recently, she was a dancer at Crown Paradise Resorts in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
Jessie originally trained as a competitive Irish dancer competing and placing in competitions around New Zealand. As her love of dance grew she started to train in more traditional styles of dance such as ballet, hip-hop, contemporary and jazz.
Jessie has completed a Certificate IV in Performing Arts and a Diploma of Dance (Elite Performance in Contemporary and Classical) after extensive study at Brent Street Studios in Sydney. One of the highlights of her training was being able to perform in the Kaldor Arts exhibition “13 Rooms” choreographed by Rafael Bonachela in collaboration with Sydney Dance Company.
In 2014 Jessie was chosen to represent New Zealand as a soloist dancer at The World Championships of Performing Arts in Los Angeles. During the competition, she won a scholarship to the very prestigious Millennium Dance Complex in Los Angeles. In early 2015 Jessie took up this scholarship and moved to LA for 3 months of incredible training.
Along with performing, Jessie teaches dance to children and teenagers around Sydney and she is excited for many more adventures to come while pursuing her love of dance.
Jessie first joined Bonnie Curtis Projects to perform in ‘Tripelpunkt’ in 2018.
