Kate is a Sydney based dancer and choreographer, who also has a passion for dance photography and film. Kate grew up in London, where she completed a BETEC Extended Diploma in Dance at Lewisham College for 2 years before moving to Australia. She completed her Bachelor of Dance at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, majoring in Contemporary. Kate is also trained in Ballet, Jazz and Pole Dancing.
While still in the UK, Kate was a member of Scatter, a performance company at The Place and also worked on other projects with artists such as Lea Anderson and Ragnhild Olsen. She was a founding member of dance company The Lab, which focused on dance for film pieces including site-specific work on the London Underground, Summertime Sadness.
Kate is heavily influenced by music and counter-cultural movements. Kate likes to explore our perception of dance and movement with task based choreography, whilst always bringing the focus back to our visual experience.
Kate first joined Bonnie Curtis Projects to perform in ‘Blazin It Up (With a Mid-Song Climax)’ in 2015.
