LIMITS NZ FRINGE REVIEWS
Bonnie recently performed her thought-provoking solo LIMITS at the NZ Fringe Festival.

The tour was filled with post-cyclone weather, earthquakes, meeting incredible artists part of the festival, seeing a couple of beautiful performances and catching up with a cherised BCP dancer, Jessie Rochford-Barber who worked on LIMITS as a technician.

Such an amazing time!

And we have some awesome reviews to share with you!

“The character Curtis has created is maniacal and cruel, a grotesque caricature of patriarchal body ideals, both disturbing and amusing. This
proximity of humour and menace is cultivated so well by Curtis…”

“Bonnie is a formidable dancer and pursues the limits of movements through not just her body but fingers, toes and facial expression, often contorting her face to demonstrate the very challenge of being comfortable within one’s skin.”

“We all have the Grotesque Creature living within us, whether we’re aware of what it looks like or not. LIMITS asks you to confront your own internalised biases against yourself by identifying with this creature and asking, “Well, what are my limits?”

MARCH DANCE RESIDENCY FOR GIRLS GONE WILD
“You sound angry, why don’t you cool down? You’d be prettier if you smiled.”

We are creating a multidisciplinary work about women and anger.

Rather than biting our tongues, we’re taking the lid off the smouldering pot of social expectations, gender roles and repressed rage.

This Residency is part of March Dance Festival at The Academy of Music and Performing Arts.

Join us for a sneak peak of our new work.

FREE PUBLIC SHOWING
Friday, 17 March at 2pm.
AMPA – Performing Arts Centre, Alexandria
