About Courtney Allerton

Courtney Allerton is an accomplished dancer based in the Illawarra. She has worked with Legs on The Wall, AUSTI. Dance & Physical Theatre Company, Bonnie Curtis Projects, and captivates audiences at The Magicians Cabaret.

 

Beginning her dance journey at the age of 3 under the tutelage of the Mary Geer Academy of Dance, going on to perform at Crowne Casino in Melbourne and in Sydney with the esteemed Diane Donovan Dancers. She was invited to join the Cecchetti Scholars program for exceptional young dancers. Courtney holds a Bachelor of Dance Performance from the Academy of Music and Performing Arts (AMPA).

 

Courtney’s artistic practice explores the intersection of visual arts and dance. Her performances are known for their captivating surreal environments, drawing inspiration from life experiences. Collaborative and innovative, Courtney pushes the boundaries of dance and visual arts, creating deeply authentic work.

Kate Garrett

About Kate Garrett

Kate is a Sydney based dancer, choreographer, artistic director and dance model with a passion for dance photography and film.

 

Growing up in London, Kate completed a BETEC Extended Diploma in Dance at Lewisham College, and experienced working with choreographers Lea Anderson and Ragnhild Olsen, as well as being part of The Place’s performance company.

 

After moving to Australia, Kate furthered her dance training at the Academy of Music and Performing Arts, majoring in contemporary. Kate has also trained in ballet, jazz, pole dance and contact improvisation.

 

Kate has a deep love of choreography and has created pieces including ‘When I Was’  and ‘Take a Seat’ as part of BCP shows and Platform Shorts. She has also been in a number of music videos including ‘Bicheno’ directed by Nathan Hockridge, ‘Swim Away’ from Wolf Gordon George and ‘Smooth’ by Nancy Mars.

Tina Moss

About Tina Moss

Tina Moss is a contemporary dancer originally from Sydney.

 

Tina has trained as a contemporary dancer at The University of Melbourne, The Victorian College of the Arts (VCA) as well as in classical ballet, before becoming more invested in the contemporary art form.

 

While studying at VCA, Tina performed in a range of works from choreographers, including: Rochelle Carmichael, Alice Lee Holland, Prue Lang, Anouk Van Dijk and Stephanie Lake during her years there, and being exposed to many other artists. In addition to this, Tina has participated in other volunteer dance work/artworks, such as: Huddle, originally created by Simone Forti, then recreated as part of the MoMA exhibition at the National Gallery of Victoria (2018), and in a mass performance MULTIPLY by the Stephanie Lake Company for Melbourne Fringe Festival (2020).

 

Furthermore, Tina has an interest in site specific work, thus explored in creating her own dance work and dance film during 2020. Recently, Tina has performed in a work called Train Escape choreographed by Francesca Gozdek with Interchange Dance Project (2021) and paired film. As Tina’s years exploring and training in contemporary dance, she has extended her interest and passion in the art form, with the aim to perform and create in this field as time goes on.

Reina Takeuchi

About Reina Takeuchi

Reina Takeuchi is an Australian-Japanese artist-researcher working across visual arts, choreography, curatorial projects and writing.

 

She graduated with Distinction from a Bachelor of Fine Arts at Queensland University of Technology (QUT), majoring in Visual/Studio Arts and Dance (2018). In 2019, Takeuchi commenced Sydney Dance Company’s Pre-Professional Year 2019 for her Masters research in Creative Practice at QUT.

 

Takeuchi received the Dorothy Birt Memorial Prize from the university for her research. In 2021, she commenced her PhD candidature through QUT, focussing on Asia-Pacific performance art processes. She has collaborated with numerous Australian and international artists.

 

Takeuchi has performed in Ars Electronica Festival in Linz, Austria, Brisbane’s Supercell Contemporary Dance Festival and Sydney Dance Company’s PPY19 REVEALED. Takeuchi also worked as an understudy with The Farm Dance Co. on ‘The Ninth Wave’ part of the Commonwealth Games. She has written for publications AusDance Qld, Delving into Dance and 4A Papers. In addition to Bonnie Curtis Projects, Takeuchi works as Curatorial Program Producer at 4A Centre for Contemporary Asian Art and has a choreographic mentorship through FORM Dance Projects with Australian artists, choreographer Meryl Tankard, composer Elena Kats-Chernin and visual artist Régis Lansac.

 

Reina first joined Bonnie Curtis Projects to perform in Wonderland in 2020.

Steph Wyburn

About Steph Wyburn

Steph Wyburn is a Sydney based classically trained contemporary dancer.

 

After completing a Bachelor of Dance at Excelsior College, she ventured overseas to Europe to further her training.

 

She has performed and collaborated with artists including Keith Hennessy, Peaches and Sheena Barnes. Steph also has performed in New Zealand on tour with BCP as well as all over Australia including Brisbane Multicultural Festival, Melbourne Fringe Festival, Platform Shorts and more. Steph regularly performs with Sydney cabaret company Les Femme DiamantMystique Dancers and Silhouette 9 Productions.

 

She is also a nationally published model, appearing in Capture Magazine as well as working regularly with Human Statue Body Art at the Star Casino, movie premiers including Thor: Ragnarok and music videos with Wolf Gordon Music and Rahsharma Films.

 

Steph first joined Bonnie Curtis Projects to perform in Berggasse 19 in 2015.
