We’ve recently had a wonderful dancer from Academy of Music and Performing Arts – AMPA join us to complete their internship.
Jess Rigby has been learning all things BCP the past few weeks and was the FOH extraordinaire at our Creative Development Showing.
Jessica is currently studying a Bachelor of Dance with AMPA, graduating in May 2022, where she is creating a 15 minute dance project. She graduated with a Diploma of Dance in Elite Performance from Dargie Entertainment in 2019. Opportunities were provided during this course to perform at the Sydney Salsa and Mambo Festival and the “Cirque by Night” Melbourne Cup Day performance. In 2019 completed her RAD Intermediate ballet exam. Jessica also works for Pistachio Entertainment performing for kid’s parties, corporate events, and promotional gigs.
Competed in physical culture, or commonly known as Physie from the age of 6, having been a part of many winning teams but most recently being announced the State Champion of her age division in 2020 for BJP. Jess was selected to be one of the performers on the 2021 and 2022 members syllabus DVD, as well as choreographer in 2022 for the Australian Physie and Dance Association (APDA). Placed 2nd at nationals in 2019 and 2018 and 4th in 2017 in individual competition for APDA.
Competed in AASCF Dance in the styles of pom, jazz, and lyrical in groups and duos. During this time Jess competed at Nationals in 2020 with her Pom duo placing 3rd as well as her self-choreographed jazz duo also placing 3rd.
Competed in dance Eisteddfods as an individual and in groups in various styles of contemporary, lyrical, jazz, and hip hop. Choreographed the Junior Dance Ensemble at Davidson High School in 2018. Jess loves to share her knowledge and passion for dance by teaching a range of students from 6 to 25 years in various styles.
