Memory Lane Monday – Fixated
Once a month we travel down BCP memory lane and open the vault door to 1 of our past works.
This month is Fixated.
It has been 3 years since Fixated made its international premiere on the opening night of the Girona Film Festival in Catalonia.
Fixated explores the interaction between camera and subject, and the perception of sexuality and sensuality, through the eyes of the unconscious mind.
Fixated developed from the inquisitive imagination of Bonnie Curtis. Wanting to explore the stereotypical views of female sexuality and sensuality, Bonnie has brought to life a distorted image of feminine sexuality. Inspired by the imagery of iconic surrealist Salvador Dali and Sigmund Freud’s theories of the unconscious mind.
Featuring the music of German artist Robert Henke (Monolake), Fixated has been nominated for Experimental Film awards at numerous festivals in Australia, Europe, America, and China including the Girona Film Festival, Quadstock Music Festival in Santa Fe, America and Sydney World Film Festival to name a few.
See what Bonnie has to say about Fixated in her interview with CinéWomen back in 2015.
